Listen
to our live radio show, Conversations with Beth and
Dan,
today, Thursday, January 31st at 2pm CST
as we talk with author, Dr. Steve McSwain.
A gifted communicator, Dr. McSwain inspires audiences
all across the nation
with his message of generous giving and living in
his book,
The Giving Myths: Giving then Getting the Life
You've Always Wanted.
We'll
discuss how contrary to popular culture, the life
you've always wanted isn't
found in career choice, personal achievements, or
even the amount of money you
may amass in a lifetime. Instead, it's found in one
of the simplist, yet most challenging
principles ever given by the greatest teacher who
ever lived. Miss getting and living by
this principle and you'll miss getting the life you've
always wanted.

This month our FHI Online magazine features an
article by
writer, Megan Sheils;
Tenth Annual "Top Ten"
Most Underreported Humanitarian Stories of 2007.
It
should come as no surprise that millions of people
in countries around the
world experience war, poverty, displacement and disease.
What is surprising is
how many of these desperate stories never make it
to the front pages and
prime-time newscasts.
Doctors
Without Borders, also known as Médecins Sans
Frontières (MSF),
released their annual Top Ten Most Underreported
Humanitarian Stories
last month. The report highlights the plights of people
in places like Myanmar,
Zimbabwe and Chechnya who are struggling to survive
daily lives interrupted
by violence, displacement and a lack of basic necessities.
The list also focuses
on
the toll of medical catastrophes like tuberculosis
(TB) and childhood malnutrition.
