How
do you celebrate your life? I had a special weekend
this past month with my mother, Karen Wicks, as we attended
the Celebrate Your Life Conference in Phoenix. We had
access to many inspiring authors and speakers as they
shared insightful ways to live your life "full"
and "alive".
Check
out the write up from FHI
writer/editor, Sharon Meyers as she shares some
pretty neat information about one way you can celebrate
"life" this week!

Just
the Ticket for a Value Added Night Out that Showcases
Women and Supports Dance
by Sharon Meyers
While many of us are optimistic about the future, the
facts of the current economy are with us; we are all
looking for real, solid value, even a great deal. So,
it is refreshing to see a new photo art show that offers
a full evening of admission, organic catering by Sweet
Dreams Bakery, a hosted bar and two dance performances,
all for just $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Students
with ID are only $10. Opening Friday, November 21, 'Spirit
& Movement: The Dancer Project in Sedona' also
reveals real dedication to a dream. It represents a
20 year collaboration, love of dance and photographic
imagery between Chicago businessman Joe Murphy and photographer
Christine Tenenholtz that has now become a reality of
grace, strength and beauty, embodied in nearly 50 images
of dancers, photographed within the Red Rocks of Sedona.
Murphy explains: "We spent nearly two weeks on
site in Sedona to photography these dancers, who hiked
two to three hours each day to get to areas between
4,000 and 5,000 feet in elevation for the images. The
project was challenging, because the dancers were photographed
in natural lighton site; mornings were often 30 degrees
and yet afternoon temperatures climbed to over 100 degrees.
This is the first time anything of this scale has been
attempted with dancers within the open space of the
Red Rock; we are showcasing these fine art photo images
to the public for the first time in this exhibition
opening."And, in these challenging times, this
show is giving back to the community. Ticket sales and
live auction of two photos, along with a limited edition
Andy Warhol print all benefit DanceWorks Chicago.
Go.
Be Inspired. Support the Arts. Have a great time at
great value!
