I
always find myself editing...unwanted clothes, unhealthy food, my son's book
reports, you name it.
You can't always explain how good it feels
to edit, but you know the feeling...getting rid of the unwanted or unneeded stuff.
Words, clothes, pounds, ideas, etc.
Editing a 1-page book report for 3rd grade isn't always easy...How do
you tell a 9-year-old boy that he has run-on
sentences? Well, I've decided that it's not as bad as some things
life has to offer, yet if we don't cure him now, he's destined to have a very wordy, happy,
kick-ball-type childhood filled with many cupcakes and well, you get my drift. We're
working on the editing.
By the way, I do not send these newsletters to editing, because I
figure, you understand my ideas and if I misplace a comma or add too many oo's to a word,
you'll be forgiving...enough said
I've always considered myself
to be creative, so when I took on the project of creating a "first class" magazine, I
decided to enlist the help of my publicist and friend, Sharon (articulate)and running pal,
Bridget (wordsmith) to help me get the job done. I would edit articles submitted for
our upcoming magazine then they would take a look at them.
It's amazing how a comma here
and a "the" there can really change things...This February you'll be
delighted to see their work on the beautiful articles written by some of the
best writers from Chicago and beyond. Keep an eye out for
fhi Chicago Magazine.

Now as far as the food editing, just cut back on white flour and
sugar--add some extra glasses of water to your day... and you'll be surprised at the
editing that takes place!
Enjoy the
Week!
