Christmas in July

Friday, November 11, 2005

Funny thing, I just got rid of the leftover Halloween candy and sure enough I’m already seeing Christmas decorations in all of the stores.

Is it just me or are the holidays blending into one big life-long celebration?  Christmas cookies and Seder treats every day of the year, for everybody!

Clark Griswald would be so excited.  Do you remember him in the National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation movie?  He always used too many holiday lights and decorations (that’s for sure) but boy, he  had the holiday spirit.

That’s really what holidays are all about—the spirit and meaning behind it all.  However, I do enjoy it when people decorate, within reason, avoiding the Clark Griswald-isms…AND I love to share good ideas and tips when I find them, so read on.

My question to you is this?

Are you afraid of ladders?  Do you and your family dread untangling and hanging your Christmas lights?  Do you want to be the envy of your neighbors?

Well, I am now because I found a great new secret…a cool company with reps all over the country called The Christmas Light Pros www.thechristmaslightpros.com .   I gave them a call at 1-866-WE-HANG4U and they directed me to my local rep, Shane Kost.

Shane came to my home within a couple of days to offer me a free estimate and installed my holiday lights two days later.  Wow!  Clark Griswald would be impressed.

They have a knack for lighting up properties in ways that most of us can’t achieve on our own.   The Chicago division, operated by my new friend Shane Kost, provides home and business owners with a myriad of options for exterior light displays and installs them to exact specifications ahead of time for Christmas.

For those of us who like to decorate for every holiday (even Columbus day) Shane’s got your back, he’ll set up an appointment any day of the year!  You could say, “He’ll light up your life”!

The good part is you don’t have to invest your own time and labor to enjoy the end result:

—perfectly-lit-lined rooftops, light-strung handrails or what ever you choose.

And get this, Shane’s crew will come back after the holidays to take the lights down and help store them for next year!

According to Kost, “Christmas and Holiday lighting truly is the new winter season craze.  As such, we specialize in hanging outdoor lighting for both business and residential properties and provide our customers with numerous options for a professional, customized look.”  Kost and his crew started installing lights as early as mid-October and will continue to work through the holidays.

In most cases, his customers prefer having their lights hung in advance so that they can be turned on easily after Thanksgiving.  “Clients who call upon The Christmas Light Pros in the fall can enjoy being the first in their neighborhoods to light up their properties,” adds Kost.

According to Lincoln Park homeowner Rhonda Malec, “The Christmas Light Pros provided us with a great service and saved us time and headaches that normally occur when hanging lights ourselves. The house never looked this good!”

The Christmas Light Pros service includes a free consultation and estimate, light hanging, service and repairs, and removal in early January. To reach The Christmas Light Pros of Chicago, contact Shane Kost at (773) 425-2727.  Otherwise, to find the closest Christmas Light Pros in your area, contact 866-WE-HANG-4U.

Take it from me, there's so much to do this holiday season, why not treat yourself to a little "light-hearted" holiday treat--no ladder climbing this year!

Oh, and Happy Fourth of July to you!

Enjoy the Week!
