"If you take care of yourself, you can then cultivate others and then together nurture the Earth."
--The life motto of local television show host and mother Beth Aldrich represents both her personal calling and that of her show.
"It is a personal mission statement, which then evolves into what the show has, in fruition, become," said Aldrich, 39, host of "For Her Information," a self-help/lifestyles series that airs on Chicago Access Network's (CAN-TV) Channel 21.
Aldrich, who has three boys ages 7, 6 and 2, came up with the idea for the series about a year ago, when during a "moms' night out" she noticed how women were "connecting and sharing information" with each other, and thought it a perfect format for a TV show.
"How cool would it be to give a real person the opportunity to present a question," she said, "which could impact other people."
The show premiered in March, and its topics, many of them generated by questions from women, have included everything from tips for getting babies to sleep to ecologically friendly architecture. |
