fhi Submission Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in writing for fhi, a
monthly online magazine for conscious-minded women. Were
always looking for new voices that present useful information
or a fresh angle about anything that will engage, entertain
and educate our readers. Our definition of conscious-minded
is broad, encompassing concern for the environment, community,
and health, as well as interest in social trends like style,
décor and products.
General
fhi accepts submissions that are lively, informative
and conversational in tone to help busy women stay connected
and informed.
We consider both issue- and service-oriented stories that
focus on trends and information relating to our departments:
herbody, herstyle, herpurse, herfamily,
hersoul, hertravels, herstory, herhome,
hercommunity, herlast laugh and IT Girl. Interviews,
reported pieces and critical essays are welcome, however,
we do review books in house. We publish few personal essays,
and prefer that submissions be third person narrative. Our
readers are savvy, educated women who are likely to pursue
topics beyond the initial article, therefore, we ask writers
to consult varied sources for their stories, and provide sidebar
resources for readers to learn more.
